Privacy Policy

Last Updated: May 22, 2026

Our mission is to keep you safe and informed. At Autism Co-op, LLC (the company that operates the Autism Co-op mobile app, www.autismco-op.com, as well as its family of platforms), our stance is that we will only use and share your data for the limited purposes described in this privacy policy. We do not and will not serve advertisements.

This privacy policy describes our privacy practices in connection with the Autism Co-op application and its related community and autism-related support services.

Our Principles for Protecting Your Data

  • Data Minimization: We only record the personal data we need to provide our services and support our community.

  • Limited Third Parties: We involve as few third-party service providers as possible. The third parties we work with have contracts in place to prohibit the reuse, sale, or unauthorized processing of your data.

  • Strict Access Control: We limit access to your data to a restricted subset of our operations and engineering team. We have specific systems to control data access, and all access is logged and regularly audited.

  • Privacy Reviews: We perform a privacy review for all new application updates and features.

  • Location Protection: We take protecting your location data seriously. We will store your data as long as necessary for active users. Inactive users' data will be securely deidentified or destroyed according to our retention protocols.

  • Security Testing: We regularly test the stability and security of our infrastructure, including annual penetration testing and reviews of our security systems and their configurations.

Your Data and How We Use It

Contact Information

We use your email address and phone number to set up and validate your user account, to communicate with you regarding community updates, and to prevent abuse of the platform. We may also send you emails about Autism Co-op events and related services—you can choose to opt out of marketing emails by following the instructions at the bottom of the email. We will still send you important transactional emails, such as responses to your support inquiries, feedback, or verification requests.

Mobile Phone Numbers & SMS Messaging

If you opt-in to receive text messages from Autism Co-op, LLC, we use your mobile number to send you information regarding community updates, service scheduling, and account notifications.

Health and Community Support Information

You may choose to share autism-related health, service history, or care information to best utilize our community features and personalized resources.

User Locations

If permitted by your device configuration, we may use your device's GPS and Bluetooth signals to help connect you with local autism-related services, resources, or community networks. You choose whether to share your location and can always revoke the application's access to your location data in your device settings.

User Activity

We aggregate user activity data (like how you interact with the app, what times you use the app, what kind of device you have, etc.) for analysis to improve the user experience and tailor our autism-related service offerings.

How We Share Your Information

  • Service Providers: We use trusted cloud providers (such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Microsoft Cloud services) to securely host our infrastructure. We only partner with service providers that commit by contract to using the information solely to perform services on behalf of Autism Co-op, LLC.

  • Government Agencies: We may share your personal information with government agencies only when you explicitly consent to the disclosure for service-matching or assistance programs.

  • Corporate Transactions: We may share some or all of your personal information in connection with or during negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition, or dissolution transaction involving the sale, transfer, divestiture, or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets. In the event of insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, personal information may be transferred as a business asset. If our company or assets are acquired by another company, that company will possess the collected personal information and assume the rights and obligations described in this Privacy Policy.

  • Legal Compliance and Protection: We may share personal information (a) with law enforcement, (b) as otherwise required by law, (c) to enforce the terms and conditions that govern the platform, and (d) to protect, investigate, and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical, or illegal activity.

⚠️ Strict SMS and Mobile Data Privacy Disclaimer (10DLC Compliance)

Autism Co-op, LLC maintains strict privacy protocols to protect the mobile information obtained through our text messaging programs. No mobile information or phone numbers collected for text messaging purposes will be sold, rented, released, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All information sharing categories outlined elsewhere in this Privacy Policy explicitly exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties under any circumstances, except as legally required by law enforcement or to provide the text messaging service via our technical service providers.

Data Retention

  • Active Community Members: We retain your account data and identity verification information on a rolling basis for as long as your account remains active to provide ongoing services.

  • Other Information: All other personal information is retained for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, or an individual requests that we delete information about them.

Security and Breach Notification

We use reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative measures designed to protect against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, disclosure, alteration, and destruction of personal information.

Because no internet transmission can be guaranteed as completely secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event that we are required by law to notify you of a security breach involving your personal data, we will do so via email, the application platform, or telephone to the extent required and permitted by law.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Managing App Permissions & Text Messaging

  • Application Uninstallation: You can stop all collection of information by the app by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall processes on your mobile device or via your app marketplace.

  • Opting Out of Location Tracking: If you initially consented to the collection of location information, you can stop the collection at any time by changing the preferences on your mobile device.

  • Text Message Opt-Out: If you are receiving text messages from us and wish to stop receiving them, simply respond with STOP to the number from which you received the message. Once we receive your "STOP" message, we will send one final automated confirmation message and will cease further text communications. You can also reply HELP for support instructions.
